DeltaHawk

DeltaHawk made aviation history today at John H. Batten Field in Racine, Wisconsin where the firm is headquartered. A Velocity RG powered by Delta Hawk's DH160V4 diesel engine lifted off for an initial flight. Flown by DeltaHawk Chief Engineer, Doug Doers, the aircraft orbited Batten Airport at speeds up to 140 knots and reached an altitude of 5500 feet. The engine is the only U.S. designed and developed reciprocating engine capable of burning Jet fuel that is known to be flying. Following an aggressive flight test program with selected business partners the engine will be released for commercial sale in the Experimental, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and Specialized Industrial markets in early 2004. DeltaHawk's marketing program also envisions timely achievement of FAA certification. DeltaHawk's management, investors and employees wish to thank all of those who remained committed to our concept for their support and encouragement during the long road to today's achievement. Every month: news, facts, and comments on the coming revolution for piston-engines aircrafts between 130 and 400 HP: Retrofitting a diesel engine to run on Jetfuel or Kerosene, reduce Gallons/Hour by some 30%, eliminate ignition systems (magnetos, spark plugs) and their problems, eliminate mixture control, increase TBO to 2,400-3,000 hours, increase performance between 6,000 and 12,500 ft., and drastically reduce Operating Costs.
