Thielerts over Europe

54 Thielert Centurion 1.7 liter 135 HP are flying today in Europe: 40 of them on Diamond DA-40, 10 of them on Cessna 172, 2 of them on the Da-42 demo, 1 of them on a Cherokee demo, and 1 of them on an OMF Symphony demo . They accumulated as of 9/03 some 5,000+ hours of flying time. By the end of 2003, 40 extra DA40's will have been retrofitted or OEM equipped. Production of the DA-42 twin has begun. Next to take off will be the Robin DA400.

SMA expands US sales network

The diesel engine manufacturer plans to have 5 sales and service centers by the end of 2003. The first ones are Tule River Aero-Industries in California and Aurora Aviation in Texas. The first product they will offer is the diesel conversion for the Cessna 182P and later models.

Every month: news, facts, and comments on the coming revolution for piston-engines aircrafts between 130 and 400 HP: Retrofitting a diesel engine to run on Jetfuel or Kerosene, reduce Gallons/Hour by some 30%, eliminate ignition systems (magnetos, spark plugs) and their problems, eliminate mixture control, increase TBO to 2,400-3,000 hours, increase performance between 6,000 and 12,500 ft., and drastically reduce Operating Costs.

The letter is intended for piston engines aircraft owners, manufacturers, fleet operators and FBOs, re-manufacturers of engines for these aircrafts, manufacturers of engine components and ancillaries, and all professionals acting in decisions of engine exchange or refitting at TBO, in North and South America, Pacific Rim, African continent, and all parts of the world were Avgas, Mogas, Kerosene and Jetfuel are available.
